Proposals For Baba's Samadhi's Centenary Celebrations - For More News Visit:

Shirdi: For the Centenary Celebrations in 2018 of Shri Sai Baba's Samadhi Day, proposals are being made to acquire funds from the Central and State Governments.

The Development Proposals for Shirdi are:
a) Construction of a new Airport.
b) Re-opening and Rehabilitation of the Shirdi by-pass road.
c) The Expansion of Ahmednagar – Kopargaon Highway.
d) Granting the "Yellow Zone" status to Shirdi.
e) Making State of Art Parking lots.
f) Un-interrupted 24 x 7 Electricity supply.
g) Increment in FSI (Floor Space Index).
h) Construction of Underground gutters.
i) Construction of Drinking Water Plants.
j) Recruitment of a Committee of Experts for Shirdi's Development & Beautification.
k) To obtain an Express Feeder from Shirdi City Electricity Board.
l) Getting supplementary Grants for the above.

According to Mr. Abhay Shelke of NCP, Shirdi, all the demands related to Shirdi's Development and the problems being faced by the residents of Shirdi, will be addressed and resolved in a meeting with Maharashtra's Chief Minister Mr. Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, after the winter assembly in Mumbai, for which preliminary discussions with other NCP members were done and all were apprised of the situation.

Once Shirdi has been declared a "Yellow Zone" the FSI will increase from 1% to 1.5%. After 8 years, Sai Samadhi will complete hundred years & lacs of devotees will be coming from all over the world for the same. Considering this, the basic infrastructure in Shirdi will have to be upgraded as per Nanded Pattern, for which Shirdi will need a grant of 1000 crore rupees from the State & Central Governments.

Business owners of Shirdi have also indicated their willingness to pay higher charges for an Un-interrupted 24 hours electricity supply
and have completed the required documentation to this effect.
