This festive season, it is a big relief for devotees because of the proper arrangements made by the Shirdi Sai Sansthan. Almost 50,000 devotees took benefit of the subsidized lunch in the new Sai Prasadalaya on Christmas day itself. Traffic of heavy vehicles is being diverted from Nagar-Kopargaon Road. Officers & Staff of Police & RTO are on the road through out the day to manage the traffic.

The Shirdi Sai Temple administration has increased the Security and deployed extra police in the Temple premises. The number of attendants at the shrine has also been increased.

To accommodate the huge rush, the Shirdi Sai Trust has put up temporary shelters at its hostel campuses. “We have created temporary shelters for 25,000 people and most of our staff is putting in extra working hours to manage the rush,” said Sasane. Even the hostels run by charity groups are full.

Due to this peak season the rates of Lodge rooms have gone up to Rs. 1200/- from Rs. 600/-. Rooms which are normally available for Rs. 800/- were being available for Rs. 2000/-. Per head tickets of Shirdi-Shingapur have gone up to Rs. 300/- from Rs. 100/-. Rates of private luxury buses & other vehicles have also gone up. Due to the heavy rush, the Shirdi Sansthan had to close down the VIP Paid Darshan Passes for a few days. Mr. Kishore More & Dr.Yashvant Mane, Executive Officers of Shirdi Sansthan themselves stood on the Pimpalwadi road to personally manage the crowd in the Darshan queues.

Also this year the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri. Shivraj Singh Chauhan will celebrate New Years Eve at Shirdi with Baba.

Road widening of Nagar-Koaprgaon road has been halted. Land acquisition for road widening is almost complete, but since work is closed, drivers of heavy vehicles suffer lot during crowd season. And as there are no Sub-ways in Shirdi, people had to cross the roads resulting in huge traffic jams. Hurriedly installed signals were also just blinking.

Since there is no proper parking lots, vehicles were parked wherever space could be found on the road. Devotees in Shirdi will have inconvenience until the entire infrastructure works such as new roads, parking lots are completed.
